We run a national Braille library, the only one of its kind in the country. This library offers services to primary, secondary, tertiary institutions and the general public braille readers.
We run a national Braille library, the only one of its kind in the country. This library offers services to primary, secondary, tertiary institutions and the general public braille readers.
Currently, it has in stock about five thousand (5000) different titles covering all levels of education and various disciplines. Most of these books are produced at the institutes Braille printing press. Others are donations from abroad. Lending and borrowing can be done through Post Office.
Blind persons are trained in Braille reading and writing skills. Sighted persons are also trained in Braille reading and writing skills if they request for use in their work with the blind.
Newly blinded persons. e.g. Bomb Blast Victims are trained in writing and reading Braille as well as orientation and mobility.
